About Emily Flexsenhar, ARNP
Biography
Professional Statement:
As a family nurse practitioner I am committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care where every individual feels heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their health concerns. I enjoy partnering with patients to focus on preventive care, health maintenance, and education so they can make informed decisions and feel empowered to achieve their best health.
Why did you become a provider?
My passion for learning and helping others is what first led me to a career in healthcare and ultimately inspired me to become a family nurse practitioner. I chose family practice because I enjoy caring for patients across all stages of life and value the opportunity to build long-term relationships with individuals and families. I strive to create a welcoming environment where patients feel listened to, comfortable asking questions, and confident that we are working together to support their health and well-being.
Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
I decided to join UnityPoint Health because of its reputation in the area, and I previously worked within the organization as a nurse and enjoyed my time enough to want to come back. UnityPoint Health strives to make patients a priority and they allow access in many different areas for patients and providers to get the best care.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy biking, hiking, playing with my two children, reading, finding new coffee shops, and gardening.
