About This Provider
"To cure sometimes, to relieve often, and to comfort always… the secret of the care of the patient is in caring for the patient; mind, body and spirit."

Medical Philosophy
Cate believes in an honest, open and trusting relationship with her patients. When there is a good working relationship, it is easier to have more difficult conversations with tact. Cate is compassionate, never judgmental, and genuinely cares about how her patients are feeling. She is dedicated to accommodating her patients’ needs and would like them to always choose to come back to her.

Medical Interests
Even as a child, Cate knew that she wanted to be a nurse. She found her niche in the ER and wanted to expand her education to make a difference for patients by giving them access to great care. Cate is passionate about being proactive in healthcare and is focused on health promotion and disease prevention. Additionally, she believes in best practice, evidence based medicine, and standards of care.

Personal Interests
During her free time, Cate enjoys exercising, hiking, athletics, and her favorite sport, basketball. She also likes to spend time outdoors, reading, gardening, and appreciating quiet time.

About Nurse Practitioners
Adult nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training, national certification and state licensure as independent health care providers. Nurse practitioners work in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team. They diagnose and treat patients as well as provide necessary referrals and prescriptions. NPs have an important role to play within the health care system – the core philosophy of the field is individualized care. Nurse practitioners focus on patients’ conditions, as well as the effects of illness on the lives of the patients and their families. NPs make prevention, wellness and patient education their priorities.
