About Brittney Balik, PA

I became a PA in Family Medicine to care for people of all ages. As the mother of a 1 year old daughter, I love seeing children, watching them grow, and following them throughout the years into adulthood. I also have experience in women’s health and managing chronic conditions, including high blood pressure and diabetes. I do feel it is important to focus on preventative health and live an overall healthy lifestyle. However, when illness or injury strikes, I am here to diagnose, treat, and promote a quick recovery.

A little about me - I am originally from Dike, IA, and went to UNI where I graduated with a BA in Microbiology and Exercise Science in 2013. I then went to Des Moines University and graduated from the PA program in 2015. I got married shortly after and began working at Unity Point Family Medicine in Fort Dodge, IA. After 2 years, my family and I relocated to the Cedar Rapids area, and I began working at the Unity Point clinic in Mount Vernon, IA.

We love the area and look forward to building our family here.

Why did you become a physician/provider?

I have always had an interest in the medical field and like to help people in any way I can.

As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?

My medical philosophy is to treat every patient on an individual basis and treat them to the best of my ability in order for them to live the healthiest life possible.

Why did you choose your specialty?

I like to see a wide range of patients, and I want to keep people from becoming sick in the first place which starts with primary care.

What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?

Compassionate, honest, caring

Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day?

Thinking about all of the patients that are counting on me to take care of them that day.

What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?

I will always be straight forward and honest.
