Biography
I'm a board-certified family nurse practitioner who is passionate about high-quality, patient-centered care in the hospital setting. I believe a strong foundation of trust and communication leads to the best health outcomes. I'm motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in my patients’ lives.
Why did you become a provider?
I want to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through patient care and support patients during their most vulnerable moments.
Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
I've been a part of UnityPoint Health since 2020, starting as a patient care tech and later working as an RN. I also earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Allen College, which is affiliated with UnityPoint Health. I chose to continue my career here as a provider because it truly feels like home. UnityPoint Health’s mission, values and dedication to patient-centered care are principles I deeply value as a provider.
Describe your average patient.
I care for individuals who are hospitalized with a wide variety of acute medical conditions and require close monitoring and management. I enjoy working with patients from diverse backgrounds and helping them throughout their hospital stay.
What would your patients say about you?
My patients would say I take the time to listen, answer questions and value the relationships I build with each of them. I want my patients to feel heard and respected in the care they receive.
Most important thing to know about you.
I value the provider-patient relationship. I believe medicine is best practiced with a strong foundation of trust and communication. I take the time to educate my patients, so they feel informed and involved in their healthcare decisions.
What's the ideal provider/patient relationship?
It's one built on trust and open communication. I want to create an environment where patients feel respected, heard and involved in their health decisions.
What's most important for patients to know about your medical philosophy?
I value providing patient-centered care with a focus on communication and collaboration. I believe working closely with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members leads to the best patient outcomes.
