Art Therapy sessions are sponsored by Stoddard Cancer Center as part of the Charlie Cutler Healing and Wellness Program. This series is intended for cancer patients and survivors.

Using four (4) elements air, water, earth and fire let us discover how we are built, how we soothe, restore, and where do you find inspiration. Each week we will focus on one element leaving the final week to focus on your personal image of wellness. A variety of media will be available along with movement, words and silence.

This model is based on concepts found in the SAMSHA trauma-informed model, concepts found in Trauma Stewardship and resilience research along with Dr. Elizabeth Warson work on wellness (4 elements) and Dr. Cathy Malchiodi (expressive arts).

Sam Erwin, MS, MA, ATR is an art therapist and spiritual director. She is invited to classrooms, conferences, retreats and small groups as a speaker and facilitator. She presently is contracted with Broadlawns, Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Stoddard Cancer Center for inpatient, outpatient and substance abuse art therapy.
