Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics 11/6/24 (ALSO) Provider Course

The AAFP has reviewed ALSO Provider Course and deemed it acceptable for up to 8.75 Live AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 11/6/2024 to 11/6/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The American Academy of Family Physicians is approved as a Provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 10.50 contact hours applicable for APRN, RN, or LPN relicensure. Kansas State Board of Nursing Provider number: LT0278-0312. This is an advanced level course and may not be suitable for all general continuing nursing education.

This is an educational program designed to enhance cognitive and procedural skills of health care professionals to help them manage obstetrical emergencies.

This course is directed primarily toward maternity care providers including physicians, nurses, and certified nurse midwives.

OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1. Discuss methods of managing pregnancy and birth urgencies and emergencies, which standardize the skills of practicing maternity care providers.

2. Demonstrate content and skill acquisition as evidenced by successful completion of online course examination, skills workstations, and group testing stations.
