AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring 10/30/24
The Advanced Fetal Monitoring course expands on the knowledge and physiological principles presented in the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course. This course uses a case study approach to focus on the analysis of maternal-fetal physiology related to complex clinical information and fetal heart rate tracings. The course emphasizes the physiology of fetal-maternal oxygenation, the interpretation of tracings, the selection of clinical interventions, and perinatal risk-management principles.
- Describe the physiologic principles of maternal and fetal oxygen transfer as they apply to principles of fetal heart monitoring
- Appraise the fetal response to maternal pathological and physiological adaptations during the labor process
- Analyze complex case studies and tracings using standardized terminology
- Apply perinatal risk management principles, communication techniques, and documentation strategies to complex and challenging patient care scenarios
