UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Announces New Market President; Stark Appointed to New UnityPoint Health System Role

UnityPoint Health has named Jon Rozenfeld as Market President for its Des Moines market, effective January 8, 2024, as David Stark has been appointed to a new role at UnityPoint Health.

Jon is a seasoned healthcare leader with more than 25 years of experience across several healthcare systems, including Johns Hopkins Medicine, Loyola University Medical Center, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital and Ascension. Jon most recently served as CEO for Vista Health System in Waukegan, IL, where he focused on operational excellence, improvements in safety and quality performance, workforce recruitment and successful strategic growth efforts with physician partners.

“I am excited to begin this role at UnityPoint Health – Des Moines and make Des Moines my new home with my wife,” said Rozenfeld. “I wholeheartedly support UnityPoint Health’s mission and focus on creating a positive experience for every patient. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation that is already in place to provide great healthcare to this growing community. I’m also ready to partner with leadership, physicians, team members, donors and our community to advance healthcare for Central Iowa and beyond.”

As a highly collaborative leader, Jon is dedicated to building a culture of inclusiveness and implementing solutions that best serve patients and communities. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Jon’s wife, Jill, is a pediatric occupational therapist. They have two adult daughters, Jordan and Sydney, and two dogs, Sadie and Bucky.

With this news, David Stark will formally transition to a new role as Government, External Affairs and Philanthropy Executive for the UnityPoint Health system that he was appointed to in July. In this position, he will focus on strategic legislative priorities, advocacy efforts, along with philanthropic and community impact initiatives across our entire footprint. David will also work closely with key stakeholders and elected officials to support our workforce, physicians and providers while advancing our mission within each community we serve.
