UnityPoint Health Creates Rural Health Leadership Role to Strengthen Local Access to Care

UnityPoint Health is excited to announce Jenn Crimmins has been selected for the newly created role of Executive Director, Rural Health Partnerships, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to strengthening rural health in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.

 

In this role, Crimmins will be responsible for developing, leading and sustaining strategic partnerships that strengthen access to local, high-quality and financially sustainable health care across rural communities, as part of our overall commitment to improving rural health.

“People who live in rural areas deserve dependable access to health care,” said Dr. Greg Johnson, Chief Medical Officer, UnityPoint Health. “Creating this role reflects our commitment to working side by side with rural hospitals, clinics and local leaders to support strong care models for the future. Jenn’s operational experience and relationship-focused approach will be important as we build partnerships that improve access, coordination and outcomes for patients and families.”

Crimmins most recently served as Vice President of Clinic Operations in the Fort Dodge Market, where she supported clinic teams, strengthened operations and helped advance work connected to rural health priorities.

“I’ve seen firsthand how challenges in rural health care can negatively affect patients, families, employers and local economies,” Crimmins said. “I’m honored to take on this role and continue working with rural partners to build practical, sustainable solutions that help people get the care they need.”

UnityPoint Health has continued to advance rural health work through local partnerships, clinical improvement efforts, research and community engagement. This includes ongoing work with rural partners to better understand their unique health needs, reduce barriers to care and support long-term improvements.
