Referrals
If you are a provider with rights to practice in Iowa and would like to refer a patient to the infusion center, please call us at (515) 241-8120 and we can direct you through the process. All patients treated at the Iowa Methodist Adult Infusion Center must have an Iowa provider or a collaborating Iowa provider who will assume responsibility for the patient while they are in the infusion center and who will provide orders for the treatment.
Referring providers must be available to address clinical status changes of their patient should they arise. Orders must be placed at the time of the infusion appointment to avoid care delays. If the provider is outside of UnityPoint Health, all documentation (history, visit notes, labs, etc.) must be included with the order. Infusion staff will be responsible for getting insurance authorizations and calling patients for appointments once authorizations have occurred.
