Grinnell Regional Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2022

(GRINNELL, IA – January 5, 2022) UnityPoint Health® - Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) celebrated the first baby of 2022 at 6:33 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4. Haley and Benjamin Smith from Grinnell welcomed a son, Samuel Lee. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long.  

“Samuel has two sisters, who are teenagers, that are very excited to have a baby brother to help take care of,” says Benjamin.

In 2021, 202 babies were born at GRMC. Of those 202 babies, 105 were boys and 97 were girls.
