Manatt Walk-In Clinic: New Name, Same Great Care

To better reflect the type of care provided, GRMC updates name of clinic

In the coming days, UnityPoint Health® - Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) will rename its urgent care clinic to better reflect the type of care provided. The Manatt Family Urgent Care Clinic will become the Manatt Walk-In Clinic. Aside from the new name, the clinic itself is not changing. The same team will continue to provide quality care with an emphasis on timely, walk-in service.

“When we launched this service in 2014, the term ‘urgent care’ was used more loosely to mean all clinic based non-emergent care without the need to schedule an appointment,” says Kyle Wilcox, Vice President of Finance and Operations at GRMC. “Over the years, we have learned that various insurance carriers have firmer definitions of the term ‘urgent care’ which has financial implications for patients. Calling ourselves a walk-in clinic is a more accurate reflection of the type of care we provide.”

The Manatt Walk-In Clinic is located within the Ahrens Medical Arts Building at 210 Fourth Avenue in Grinnell. The care delivered is focused on addressing acute conditions like minor illnesses, sprains and strains, minor lacerations and the like. Care is provided without an appointment, on a first come, first served basis.

Diagnostic services including advanced lab testing, x-rays, and more are readily available at the hospital, which is adjacent to the Walk-In Clinic.

“Our clinic is an option for those who have trouble getting an appointment within the typical clinic hours due to their work schedule or other commitments, or those who need care over the weekend,” says Wilcox. “We are also available to serve patients who need care but may not already have a primary care provider or office identified.”

The Manatt Walk-In Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
