Berryhill Center Receives $1.6 Milllion Grant
UnityPoint Health – Berryhill Center is pleased to announce that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded Berryhill Center with a grant totaling $1.6 Million over four years to implement a Primary & Behavioral Health Care Integration (PBHCI) Project.
Berryhill’s Primary Behavioral Health Care Integration project will include Primary Care services being provided at the Berryhill Center along with other wellness services. These services are evidence based practices (EBP) to help individuals with severe mental illness live healthy lives. The EBPs include: Learning about Healthy Living; Nutrition and Exercise of Wellness and Recovery, and Whole Health Action Management.
UnityPoint Health – Berryhill Center would like to publically thank SAMHSA for this award. We believe that integrating physical health with mental health is the best model to provide lasting results for our community’s health. We would also like to thank our partners in this initiative which include: Webster County Public Health, the Fort Dodge Rec Center, Trinity Regional Medical Center, Unity Point Clinic, and The Iowa Heart Center.
Our PBHCI initiative is scheduled to begin implementation in January of 2016, with the majority of these services taking place in Fort Dodge. In 2018 services will be expanded to surrounding communities.
We would again like to recognize SAMHSA for making these services available to our community through their generosity.
