UnityPoint Health - Lifeflight Upgrades Aircraft to Better Suit Patient Needs
IA – The UnityPoint Health air ambulance service
LifeFlight has placed a new aircraft into service in Fort Dodge to better suit
patient needs. While the new aircraft is very similar to the one that has been
servicing Fort Dodge for the past year, this one has many upgrades to the interior
of the aircraft including: wider loading space, increased storage and a layout
to better accommodate pediatric and cardiac patients with special equipment.
“UnityPoint Health LifeFlight is committed to meeting the needs of the community,
providing the best outcome, every patient, every time and we continue to evolve
our services to meet that need,” said Michael Zweigart CFRN, CMTE, Manager,
UnityPoint Health - LifeFlight.
Probably the most notable change with the new aircraft is that is
branded with UnityPoint Health blue and white.
UnityPoint Health - LifeFlight serves an eight county region around Fort Dodge
for both adult and pediatric trauma and medical needs. The crew is made up of
pediatric RN’s, Adult RN’s and Critical Care Paramedics. To date, over 300
patients have been transported to Iowa City, Des Moines, Rochester, Sioux City
and Omaha from the Fort Dodge location.
