UnityPoint Health - Dubuque is excited to announce a new clinic in the Tri-State area: UnityPoint Clinic Neurosurgery, located at 1500 Delhi Street Suite 4300 in Dubuque. This clinic will open on Monday, October 31 and will be led by Catherine Miller, M.D.. This type of care is a welcomed addition to the healthcare landscape in the Dubuque and Tri-State areas, as neurosurgery care has not been offered in the area since the mid-1990s. Now, residents of the Tri-State area won't have to travel outside of the area for this specialized care.
"The addition of UnityPoint Clinic Neurosurgery provides a unique specialty to those in and around the Tri-State area," said UnityPoint Health - Dubuque President and CEO Chad Wolbers. "Not having this type of care in our area for the past several years, we know there is a need for neurosurgery care right here in our own communities. Dr. Catherine Miller is a welcomed addition to our team, and we are excited to have her and the team caring for patients soon."
Through UnityPoint Clinic Neurosurgery, Dr. Miller will be providing treatments for spinal conditions, specifically minimally-invasive spine surgery. To be seen at UnityPoint Clinic Neurosurgery, a doctor's referral is required.

Dr. Miller comes to the Dubuque area from San Francisco, California, where she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California. Her medical education started at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. At the University of California - San Francisco, Dr. Miller also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine.
When asked about her care philosophy, Dr. Miller aims to provide individualized care for each and every patient, whether in the clinical or surgical setting.
"I strive to provide the safest and best care for each patient," Dr. Miller said. "I place an emphasis on communication and the patient's understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan. It is all about delivering the right treatment for the right patient at the right time."
In her free time, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with her family, exercising/sports, traveling, and crafting.
