She thought she needed a mastectomy. Until she found hope at Finley
Once resigned to a double mastectomy, Tanya Kopp finds new hope close to home
“They found the lump during a routine mammogram, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October 24. Since my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 31 and had a double mastectomy, I assumed I would have to take the same course of action. My doctors in Wisconsin, and later at Finley Wendt Regional Cancer Center, decided to prescribe less aggressive treatment.
“Throughout my 33 treatments, Dr. Koneru and the staff including Charlye, Chris and Trista—made me feel at home. My daughter, Preston, was so impressed with the Center that she wants to go into radiology after high school. In fact, they invited her to tour the facility as a job shadow.
“I am so glad I chose Finley and Dr. Koneru for treatment. I had 33 treatments close to my home in Cuba City and I’m really no worse for the wear. I was concerned about keeping my six-year-old students positive about my situation, and I never missed a day of class. Perhaps best of all, I’ve been cancer-free since February.”
