Meet Liam: A Finley Baby

Liam Daniel Connolly was born on 7/11/2017 at 9:37 a.m..  He weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Liam is our 4th child.  We arrived at Finley around 2 a.m., hoping that this labor would go as quickly as the last 2 deliveries went (between 3 and 3 1/2 hours).  We typically have used the midwives for deliveries, but this time they were unavailable.  As the hours passed and the back labor became more and more intense, I opted for my very first epidural.  Mindy was awesome at putting my concerns with an epidural at ease.  She was the start of our awesome care and experience.  When the shift change occurred we met Barb and Kayla.  Barb was incredible with my questions regarding the pressure and explaining the epidural pump to me.  There were a few since I had never used an epidural with my other deliveries.  She was a great teacher to Kayla, whom I believe experienced her first delivery as an intern at Finley with Liam.  Liam made his debut at 9:37 a.m. after pushing through 2 contractions.  It was such a peaceful delivery. As Liam was coming out it was noticed the cord was loosely wrapped around his neck twice.  Linda was his nurse and she also noticed there was a true knot in the cord.  Everyone was so calm but Liam--he was a busy little boy before coming out.  Our family feels truly blessed and lucky to have him!  Linda was a great nurse she got him all warmed up and took wonderful care of him.

All of our nurses were so wonderful and caring.  They truly made our 4th and final delivery very and stay amazing!  With each delivery and stay, I think each one has gotten better and better.

While nursing my little guy the last morning of our stay, I noticed there was a spot on the dry erase board that asks what great care means to me.  Immediately I thought of each and every staff member and Doctor that entered our room.  I left the attached note on the board the morning we left.  Thank you so much for making our delivery and stay so wonderful.  There was nothing that could have been done to make it any better.  Like our new little addition, everything was perfect.

We also need to give a shout out to Nita for the home visit and Laura for the lactation advice.  Little Liam started gaining weight like a champ after 3 weeks.  They were both extremely helpful.

Thanks!
Nikki and Nick Connolly
