UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is one of 10 organizations honored this week for its dedication to investing in the skill and career development of frontline workers
CareerSTAT, an initiative of the National Fund for Workforce Solutions and Jobs for the Future, recognized 10 health care employers as 2015 “Frontline Healthcare Worker Champions.” CareerSTAT’s recognition program was created to acknowledge health care organizations that have made a lasting investment in their frontline workers by promoting internal career progression and providing access to on-site training and skills development opportunities.
Yesterday, Joyce McDanel, Vice President of Human Resources and Education, and Emily Brown, Human Resources Retention Specialist and Business Partner, accepted the award at the National Fund’s Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD. Joyce said, “Our employees are a top priority and our commitment to training, coaching and educating our frontline workers have removed many barriers to professional growth. Our programs create a culture of support, learning and opportunity for our employees. I truly believe employees ‘come for a job, but stay for a career’.”
UnityPoint Health – Des Moines supports its frontline workers through on-site and employee-centered training and mentoring.
