I've always had a passion for caring for others, and being a Nurse Practitioner has given me the opportunity to make a long-lasting difference in people's lives.
As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?
Health care is more than just treating physical symptoms; it's also about understanding the mental and emotional aspects that affect a person as a whole. Understanding all these details is key in providing successful medical care.
What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about chronic disease, and understanding how intercepting the disease process with appropriate medical care can change the overall outcome.
Why did you choose your specialty?
Having worked as a nurse with cardiac patients, I developed a love for the cardiology specialty. Our hearts are such a vital part of our body, and working in this specialty gives me the opportunity to help patients keep this system healthy and functioning to the best of it's ability.
What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?
Some of my strongest qualities include being compassionate, understanding, and honest. Connecting with my patients and understanding the struggles that are affecting their health is an important factor in providing the best individualized care.
Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day?
Being a partner in my patient's health care is the most rewarding part of my job. I enjoy knowing that I can help my patients achieve a better quality of life through my work as a provider.
What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?
I view healthcare as a team effort between my patients and myself. I want patients to know I'm on their side, and we can have the most success by working together as partners in their medical care.
