Why did you become a physician/provider?
Becoming a physician was my way of making an impact on others lives. While many career paths offer this reward, I chose medicine as it is poses unique challenges daily and is constantly changing, all with a goal of health and well being.
As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?
To treat each patient as equal while tailoring care to each patient's unique needs.
What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about?
Hospital medicine for pediatric patients.
Why did you choose your specialty?
Working with children was a passion of mine that started while teaching and coaching swimming in high school. This passion has only continued to grow over time. Children have an incredible spirit that shines through even during an illness, making my work not only rewarding but fun!
What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?
Patient, listener, advocate.
Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day?
I am motivated not only by the care I can provide for children but also by the unique challenges that medicine presents, providing more learning opportunities for continued growth in patient care.
What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?
I want families to know that I value their input. Parents know their children best and it is important for me to hear their concerns and goals when it comes to their children.
