Farewell December 31, 2016

Thank you so much for reading the ramblings of this stay-at-home mom.  It has been my privilege to write to you about my experiences as a parent- the good, the bad and the ugly.

I have enjoyed trying to write for those who are new to this experience, who are looking for a mentor, for someone that's been there before.  I know the 2 a.m., screaming baby, not sure what to do nights.  I have seen your school aged child cry because someone is making fun of them at school.  I have worried and stressed through all kinds of situations- when to potty train, is my child ready for school, what happens if they lose their friends.  And the things is, I'm still learning.  We are not child experts.  We just do the best we can with our kids as we learn together.  There are so many experiences that I haven't had yet as my children are nearing the teenage years.  And there are lots of things that each child does differently.  My youngest isn't the same person as my oldest.  So there are always new problems, struggles and challenges.  Welcome to life and parenting.  It doesn't come with a handbook.  Thank goodness our children have So Much Grace.

But I know that you love your kids just as much as I love my kids.  And as mothers (and fathers), we do our best to make the best decisions at the time.  I truly believe if we want to change the world, we should do as Mother Teresa is famously quoted- Go home and love your family.

You and me, loving our kids and changing the world, one good kid at a time.

Thanks for reading.
