About This ProviderPrint

Why did you become a physician/provider?

I am a lifetime believer of the fact that one who saves one life, saved all mankind. Making a difference in lives of sick people is my passion and that is what drove me into the field of medicine.

As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?

The greatest mistake in the treatment of diseases is that there are physicians for the body and physicians for the soul, although the two cannot be separated. ~Plato

I believe in working whole heartedly with the patient and not just looking at one organ of body or just one particular disease.

What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about?

Advancement in diagnosis and management of lung diseases. Management of Intensive care unit patients.

Why did you choose your specialty?

The diverse spectrum of pulmonary critical care ranging from outpatient clinics to very sick patients in the intensive care unit made me choose this specialty. While the clinic patients need a very close follow up care for lung health, in addition to helping a very sick patient in ICU by looking closely at heart and lung physiology, counseling and helping families of these patients in understanding the disease process is highly rewarding.

What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?

I am a dedicated and compassionate medical professional who specializes in providing comprehensive medical care to hospital patients, utilizing extensive knowledge of pulmonary and critical care medicine in evidence-based fashion to ensure complete recovery of the patients.

Being a health care provider, what drives/motivates you each day?

My motive is what American Thoracic Society describes "We help the world breath." There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a patient with lung disease getting better and seeing a very sick patient in intensive care unit getting off the supporting machines, ventilators etc.

What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?

I demonstrate significant expertise in a wide range of procedures including fiberoptic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, thoracentesis, intubation and airway management, ventilator management, and central venous access. I work very closely with the patient and their family in making them understand the disease process and help in the management throughout the course of disease.
