Outpatient Therapy

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (PT) is the practice of rehabilitation of functional mobility after an illness, injury or disease. Treatments may include gait, balance and transfer training, exercise programs, manual therapy, and possibly the use of physical modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound/phonophoresis, iontophoresis or thermotherapies. Physical Therapy also offers specialty programs for treatment of lymphedema, vestibular (dizziness) issues, and dry needling.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is skilled treatment that helps individuals achieve independence in all facets of their lives. Occupational therapy assists people in developing skills necessary for independent and satisfying lives and restoration of functional skills after illness, injury or disease. OT treatments are designed to improve one's ability to perform daily activities. They may involve home and job site adaptive recommendations, performance and skills assessments and treatments, adaptive equipment recommendations, guidance to family members and caregivers, manual therapy and many other services. Allen Occupational Therapists have years of experience in hand therapy, both surgical and non-surgical cases.

Speech - Language Pathology

Speech therapy provides skilled therapy services to adults and children to facilitate improved communication, swallowing and cognitive skills. Speech Language Pathologists are trained to facilitate improved speech, language, voice and fluency to improve communication and are also trained to evaluate and treat swallowing disorders. Cognitive skills, such as memory, concentration and problem solving, are also skills which speech pathologists evaluate and treat to maximize a person's ability to function safely.
