Do Your Part – Get a Flu Shot
It's the doctor's orders – get your flu vaccine.
With the unpredictability of COVID-19 circulating at the same time as the flu, the best measure is to decrease the possible negative impacts on your respiratory system. The flu vaccine not only reduces your risk of illness but can prevent hospitalizations and deaths.

When to Schedule Your Flu Shot
It's best to get your shot by the end of October. If you miss that deadline, you can still roll up your sleeve later in the season.
Almost everyone, six months and older, should get the immunization. The vaccine is safe and recommended for pregnant women. It is especially important for vulnerable populations, like older adults and those with pre-existing medical conditions – like cancer or diabetes.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies a few rare exceptions for those who shouldn't get the vaccine, including people who are allergic to the flu vaccine or anything used to make it. If you have concerns, talk with your care team.
Do You Already Have Flu Symptoms?
A flu shot significantly lowers your chance of getting the flu, and if you are infected, symptoms are likely to be less severe if you've had the vaccine. If you do have symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, stuffy nose or body aches, we can help you feel better faster.
You are encouraged to contact your primary care provider first; many have same-day appointments available. And, if you're sick, we're here to offer safe care, your way until you're feeling better.
