Grell joins St. Luke's College as Nursing Instructor
St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health is pleased to name Renae Grell as a Nursing Instructor.
In her new role, Grell will be a clinical instructor for first semester students in UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s Medical-Surgical unit, teaching students about providing care for medical-surgical and orthopedic patients. In addition, she will also be a clinical instructor for second semester students in women’s health which teaches students about providing care for postpartum women, infants and gynecological patients. Grell will also provide assistance with electronic medical records, EPIC, training.
Previously, Grell worked in Pediatrics, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Mom/Baby and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Luke’s. She has also served as a lactation nurse and clinical staff educator for Pediatrics and NICU.
Grell received an Associate Degree in Nursing from St. Luke’s College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. In 2015, she will graduate with a Master of Science in Nursing in Education from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Grell is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and she is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Grell is member of International Lactation Consultant Association and Sigma Theta Tau. She also volunteers for fundraising activities for March of Dimes and St. Luke’s Children’s Miracle Network.
Located at 2800 Pierce Street in Sioux City, St. Luke’s College celebrated record enrollment in its 2014 fall semester.
