Visitor Guidelines/Masking Policy

The health and safety of our patients and team members is our top priority. We are currently experiencing higher levels of COVID-19 and/or other respiratory illnesses throughout our community. At this time, masking is now required for patients and visitors. As a healthcare facility we are caring for individuals that are sick or have weakened immune systems and we must be more cautious when COVID-19 levels are higher in our community.

Visitor Guidelines (updated 9/26/22):

Our visitor policy is as follows:

Inpatient Visiting Hours: Monday-Friday 5 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Visitors will be permitted to wait in the front lobby, waiting rooms, and dining areas.
  • There will be no restrictions on visitor age.
  • Restrictions on the number of visitors allowed will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the clinical situation and available space.
  • The front entrance of the hospital will be open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors arriving outside open hours should utilize the Emergency Department entrance located at the north side of the building.

Masking Policy (updated 9/26/22):

UnityPoint Health updated its masking guidelines for UnityPoint Health facilities that provide patient care to align with local community transmission levels, while taking into consideration illness severity metrics, vaccination rates and external evidence and guidance. Moving forward, masking guidance for facilities that provide patient care will be outlined according to community transmission level.

Current COVID-19 community transmission level: Substantial

During times of substantial transmission levels, masking will be required for all patients, visitors and team members.

Individuals who should continue to mask, regardless of community transmission levels, include patients and visitors who:
  • Are experiencing respiratory symptoms
  • Have had a known COVID-19 exposure in the past 10 days
  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days
