Updates, Closings & restrictions
Please Call Ahead Before Any Visit & Wear a Mask or Face Covering
To reduce community spread of COVID-19, we're asking all patients to please call ahead before visiting a clinic. If you have an appointment at a UnityPoint Health location, please wear a mask or face covering except for children under two years old, anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated or unable to remove the mask without assistance.
UnityPoint Health® – Trinity is elevating our current visitor restrictions, until further notice, to further protect our patients and team members during the global outbreak of COVID-19.
Visitors are not allowed, except:
One parent or legal guardian for patients under 18 years of age
One life partner for birth of a child
Two family members for end-of-life care
These restrictions will be in place until the transmission of COVID-19 is no longer a threat to our patients, staff and community.
The decision to elevate restrictions was difficult and made only after careful consideration as we witness actions taken by our governments, schools, churches and other venues to restrict gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Please note in all cases a visitor will only be allowed if they do not have symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath).
Visitors allowed must stay in the patient's room the entire time of the visit. Once the visitor leaves the patient room, they must leave the hospital. Please note that visitors will not be allowed for patients with a pending or positive COVID-19 test.
We're also limiting public entrances at all Trinity hospitals at noon on Tuesday, March 17, to further protect patients and the community. Along with visitor restrictions, these additional preventative measures are meant to help minimize the risk COVID-19 poses to the people we care for, our team members and our critical health care resources.
Also effective at noon on Tuesday, March 17, our hospital cafeterias will be closed to visitors. Patient meals will not be impacted, and approved visitors will still be able to order a room service tray with a credit card.
