Biography
Why did you become a social worker? To promote the safety and well-being of children and families. I have always been passionate about supporting children and have worked with them my entire life. I believe children deserve all the safety, love, care and support possible.
As a social worker, what is your philosophy? Children are incredibly resilient and amazing, and they deserve the opportunity to be just what they are – children. Mental health issues are completely treatable conditions, so if a child is struggling, there is help out there and change is possible.
What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients? Genuine, caring, supportive, nonjudgmental, compassionate.
Being a social worker, what drives/motivates you each day? Observing the positive progress and success of the patients I work with!
What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice? Although employed by UPH Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center. I provide mental health therapy in the Waterloo School District through the Success Street program. If you are interested in having your child seen for school-based therapy, please contact your child's school counselor to discuss therapy services.
