Outpatient Nutrition Counseling
At UnityPoint Health, we know that staying healthy is important to you, and our registered dietitians are here to help! We consult with adults of all ages and offer some of the most affordable nutrition counseling in the area. A physician referral is necessary if you plan to file for reimbursement or coverage through your health insurance policy for your nutrition visit. Coverage varies, and we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly for specific coverage questions.
How To Schedule an Appointment With an Outpatient Registered Dietitian
If you plan to file for insurance coverage or reimbursement, contact your primary care physician and ask them to place a referral for outpatient nutrition counseling. If your physician is a UnityPoint Health provider, our referral center will check on insurance coverage for you. If your physician is not a UnityPoint Health provider, ask them about their process for checking on insurance coverage. You may have to call your insurance provider to check on coverage for nutrition counseling.
Once we have received and processed the nutrition referral, our scheduling team will contact you to schedule an appointment. Please be patient as referral processing can take some time.
