Meet the Vascular Team

The UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois vascular team works together to deliver you expert care for vascular conditions, including varicose veins, peripheral artery disease and carotid artery disease.

Vascular Care at UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois

Our vascular team was the first in Illinois to offer transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) and our providers are certified in the procedure. Our team also earned the 2020 TCAR Clinical Operators of Experience award for improving carotid artery disease treatment. The award came from SilkRoad Medical, the manufacturer of the TCAR device.

That advanced expertise is just one example of our commitment to providing you with outstanding vascular care. On-site testing and in-office varicose vein procedures offer you excellent options with the convenience of care near home.

Our vascular team specializes in treating the veins and arteries away from the heart. Find out more about our vascular care

Members of Our Vascular Team

While you're here, you'll have a professional team dedicated to your care and treatment. Depending on condition and the treatment you receive, you may see more than one type of provider.

Your care team may include these types of providers:

  • Vascular surgeons: These surgeons treat diseases of the blood vessels, including stroke, peripheral artery disease and varicose veins.
  • Nurse practitioners and physician assistants: Our nurse practitioners and physician assistants work alongside doctors to manage vascular disease. They prescribe medications, recommend treatment plans and coordinate care.Your Vascular Team
