In-hospital Interpreter Services
If you need interpretation services while you are at UnityPoint Health, please let your nurse know when you arrive. They will be able to contact someone who can assist you.
We have interpreters in the following languages:
Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Tagalog, Urdu, Yoruba, and ASL. We will make every effort to accommodate your language needs.
Phone Interpreter Services
Interpreter services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for over 140 languages via language link services to all UnityPoint Health offices. Calls are connected to an interpreter within an average of 25 seconds. Language identification cards are available in the nursing offices and the Emergency Department to assist in identifying needed language when unable to determine.
TTY and Hard of Hearing Telephones
UnityPoint Health has TTY telephones and hard-of-hearing telephones for the hearing impaired. A TTY phone is located in the Emergency Department and at the Information Desk in the hospital lobby. Both types of phones are available for patient use.
