Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to fast before my appointment?

This depends on the testing that you are having done. It is best to consult with your provider if you should be fasting before having your blood drawn. When fasting, please do not eat or drink anything other than water for 8 to 12 hours before your appointment. We strongly discourage drinking black coffee, and do not exceed 12 hours of fasting, as this can negatively impact test results.

How long will it take?

Our goal is to make your visit with us as seamless and quick as possible. Since we are a walk-in collection site, visit times can vary depending on how many people are ahead of you. Other factors such as the type of test your provider has ordered or if we have all of the proper documents needed for testing impact the length of your visit.

What types of payment do you accept?

We only accept Cash or Check. To keep overhead low and to provide you with the best pricing as possible, we do not accept credit cards or debit cards.

How do I schedule an appointment?

We do not schedule appointments. Our facility is a Walk-In collection site. We see each patient in the order that they arrive.

Depending on the testing being ordered, our phlebotomist could ask for blood, urine, or stool specimens. We cannot collect any swab testing.

Results

How do I get a copy of my results?

A copy of your results will automatically be sent to the ordering provider at the fax number listed on the order once they are complete. If you wish to obtain a copy of your results, you may bring a self-addressed stamped envelope with you to your appointment and we will mail them once they are complete. Please note, delivery of your results may be 7-10 business days from the date that all requested testing is completed.

When will my results be complete?

Completion times of testing depends on the testing that is requested. While most standard tests are completed within 24-48 hours, some testing may take longer to complete, or they may be batched and performed on certain days of the week. We recommend having your labs collected about a week before your doctor's appointment if you wish to go over the results at your visit. Please note: Immigration testing for patients could take 7-10 days to complete due to the complexity of the tests.

Will my provider be notified of my results?

Yes. The ordering provider will receive a copy of your results by fax or through an electronic record system if your provider is registered with Harmon Lab.
