  • Weigh between 110 - 350 pounds
  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Feel well the day of the donation
  • Have vital signs (pulse, temperature & blood pressure) within criteria
  • Wait 56 days (8 weeks) between whole blood donations

Why should I give?

"As an employee of Methodist, I also would like to share my personal experience. Back in 1984, when I was 12 yrs. old, my life was saved by a blood donor. My appendix ruptured and I was admitted to the hospital and rushed into surgery. Due to complications during the surgery, I lost so much blood that a transfusion was required to save my life. If it weren't for the many generous blood donors, I would not be alive today! Now, I too am a blood donor and on the giving end, instead of the receiving end. To all of those donors, thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
