UnityPoint Health is kicking off the Kids Konnected 2020 series on February 1 with the "Making Connections Project."
900 Main Street
Peoria, IL 61602
Suite 150 A & B (Behind elevators next to Subway)
This is a free family event for children and teens whose lives have been affected by a parent, grandparent, or caregiver with a past or present diagnosis of cancer.
Participants will get creative with polymer clay to make keychains to inspire hope, strength, and courage. These keychains will be distributed by our cancer nurse navigators during their first meeting with patients newly diagnosed with cancer. These will promote a sense of connection to the community of support available. Children age 5-18 are welcome as are their parents.
Sign up for this free event online or by calling 309-672-5785.
The Kids Konnected program offers a safe place for children and teens to share feelings and concerns and to ask questions about their loved one’s cancer. The meetings and activities are facilitated by a master’s level professional that helps children, teens, and adults share their feelings and receive support from others.
