Adult Partial Hospitalization Program at Methodist (PHP)
Adults who have symptoms that interfere with or prevent their ability to function in their home, community, or workplace, but which are not severe enough to require inpatient hospitalization, may benefit from partial hospitalization program (PHP) Care.
PHP Care is an intensive, active, therapeutic program that offers many behavioral health services in an outpatient setting. PHP Care is a more flexible and less costly alternative to inpatient treatment.
Clients attend sessions at Methodist during daytime hours Monday through Friday. Going home each evening allows participants to remain as independent as possible and to practice new skills. When they return to the program each day, patients receive encouragement and support.
The goal is for individuals to...
- Gain insight into their problems
- Improve their coping skills
- Make positive life choices
Master's-level mental health professionals lead all sessions with the oversight of a Methodist Medical Group psychiatrist. The average length of treatment in the PHP is 10 days.
