There will be a penalty, either a flat fee or a percentage of income, whichever is greater, assessed to individuals failing to maintain health care coverage.
The penalty will be phased in over the next three years.
$95/per adult and $47.50/per child; up to $285/per household OR 1% of Yearly Household Income (whichever is greater)
$325/per adult and $162.50/per child; up to $975/per household OR 2% of Yearly Household Income (whichever is greater)
$695/per adult and $347.50/per child; up to $2,085/per household OR 2.5% of Yearly Household Income (whichever is greater)
