The purpose of this conference is to provide best practices in identifying and caring for drug endangered children.

Intended Audience:

Professionals who work with drug endangered children and their families including those from law enforcement, human services, prosecution, healthcare, mental health, substance abuse treatment and prevention, child development, education and foster parents.

Continuing Education:

  • IBON Provider #31, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, awards 6.0 contact hour(s) for full attendance.
  • Approved for 6.0 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) hours, including 1.5 wellness hours.
  • Approved for 6 hours of in-service training for foster parents.
  • IBC approved for 10.5 hrs. Total/ 1.5 hrs. Special Population/ 1.5 hrs. Generic/ 1.5 hrs. Counseling Theories & Techniques/ & 6.0 hrs. Alcohol & Drug


Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify ways to reduce secondary trauma in the helping profession.
  2. Identify new and emerging psychoactive substances and describe their effects, how they're obtained, how they're used, detection methods and management of overdose.
  3. Describe exactly what fentanyl is.
  4. Discuss intellectual and social outcomes for children and young adults affected by maternal drug use.


• $100 – On or before March 15

• $120 – After March 15

The fee includes lunch and conference materials.

Registration deadline is Monday, April 1. Substitutions are allowed – No refunds will be given.
