Living with type 1 diabetes can be both trying and demanding as diabetes management requires a lot of time and effort and can impact so many areas of your life. You may find that talking to other people with type 1 diabetes is helpful. This forum provides the opportunity for sharing personal experiences, asking questions, and receiving direct feedback.
This forum meets on 4th Tuesday every other month between 5 pm and 7 pm at Meriter Hospital
, Tower C Conference Room.
Our ongoing diabetes education program is facilitated by UnityPoint Meriter's certified diabetes educators. The meetings are designed to assist you with developing diabetes knowledge and self-management strategies, as well as to help you build resilience and to increase your confidence that you have the skills and resources to manage diabetes in the long-term. In addition, these classes give you the opportunity to expand your support network and to learn from others who are also living with Type 1 diabetes. Our class sizes are small to allow for supportive group interaction.
The content areas included in the classes are those specified in the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
If you have any questions, please call (608) 417-8300
