Kids Staying Home Alone This Summer? Enroll them in June 13 Safe Sitter course for peace of mind!

GRUNDY CENTER - Instilling confidence and decision making skills in young teens who are just beginning to babysit or stay home alone is the goal of the nationally recognized “Safe Sitter”™ class, which is offered on Thursday, June 13, 8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The class includes information on how to deal with emergencies, food preparation tips, and basic CPR and First Aid for young teens, who may be staying home alone this summer for the first time, or caring for younger siblings.
The class is taught jointly by Grundy County Memorial Hospital and Grundy County Iowa State Extension Service. To enroll, children need to have completed the fifth grade by the class date. The next class will be offered on August 15.
