Welcome to Medicare seminar offered at GCMH
Are you turning 65 and going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future? Have you been on Medicare and want to better understand what it offers? Do you help a family member with Medicare issues?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, “Welcome to Medicare” is for you! The free educational event is offered by the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, or SHIIP, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 23 at 5:00 p.m. The seminar will be held in the hospital’s Education Room.
“We’re excited to offer this free seminar to the community,” says Erin Schildroth, Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator at GCMH. “Medicare is such an important program and understanding what it offers helps assure that Medicare recipients receive health benefits when they need them,” she adds.
“Welcome to Medicare” will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance. For more information or to make a reservation to attend the free program, call the hospital at 319-824-5085 or register on the hospital’s website, www.grundycountyhospital.org. Registration is requested by July 15.
SHIIP, the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, is a service of the State of Iowa. SHIIP counselors are trained by the state and do not sell or promote any insurance companies, policies or agents. Grundy County Memorial Hospital sponsors SHIIP locally and appointments to consult a SHIIP volunteer about your Medicare options are available by phoning the hospital’s scheduling department at 319-824-5081.
