Tickets Available for Women's Health Event; set for April 30

Area women are invited to “Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Friends”, an entertaining evening focused on women’s wellness. The Grundy County Memorial Hospital is sponsoring the event on Tuesday, April 30 at the PT Event center, rural Reinbeck. Wellness coach and certified fitness trainer Daira Driftmeier will present the program on “Small Changes = Big Results”. Driftmeier is the director of HyVee Fitness and HyVee Kids Fit, and is an experienced and energetic speaker who will deliver a message about the simple changes women can make to improve the health of themselves and their families.

The evening begins with displays from local health and wellness providers during an “Impact Hour” from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00, with the program following. “We invite area women to enjoy a pre-Mother’s Day outing with the ladies in their life to hear Daira’s story, as well as visit with local health professionals on a variety of timely health topics,” remarks Keely Harken, hospital community outreach manager. Proceeds from the event benefit the hospital foundation’s Community Health Grant program, which provides funding to local schools and non-profits to benefit projects that improve health outcomes. Reservations may be made by phoning Harken at 319-824-4152 by April 25, or emailing GCMH_Info@unitypoint.org. Reservation and payment may also be made via the hospital’s website, grundycountyhospital.org.
