UnityPoint Health - Grinnell Regional Pain Clinic Frequently Asked Questions
I am ready to take back my quality of life, without the pain. What do I do?
Once you have decided it's time to get your pain under control, fill out this form or call our pain management clinic at (641) 236-2338.
What is a pain clinic?
A pain clinic is a health care clinic that focuses on the diagnosis and management of chronic and acute pain. We will work with you to develop a plan that enables you to live your life with less discomfort. You will receive care from a team of physicians, nurses and office staff who specialize in pain management.
What type of services do you offer?
We offer a comprehensive assessment of your pain and how it might be influencing your quality of life. From that, we determine the best course of treatment to fit your needs. We offer the latest medical treatments for chronic and acute pain including interventional pain management techniques as well as interdisciplinary services. These can include medication therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and outpatient procedures.
We believe in a multidisciplinary approach to pain care. We may involve additional team members in your care plan. They might include surgeons, physical therapists and other specialists as indicated.
Do I need a referral to see you?
Yes. We are a referral-based clinic. But we would be glad to help you with the referral process! Give us a call at (641) 236-2338.
How do I get a referral to come to the pain clinic?
The referral would come from your primary care provider, sometimes referred to as your family doctor. We are happy to help you get the referral process started. If you don't already have a provider established, you can see which of our physicians are accepting new patients.
What pain can you treat?
We offer a wide array of services for many diagnoses including, but not limited to:
- Cancer Pain
- Chronic Pain Syndrome
- Low Back Injury
- Mysofascial (Trigger Point) Syndrome

Do you offer medication for pain management?

Do you accept insurance?
Most office visits and procedures are covered by insurance. Please call the Member Services phone number on the back of your insurance card if you have any questions. We also accept all major credit cards.
Where is the clinic located?
