UnityPoint Health & Centene/Iowa Total Care Finalize Iowa Medicaid Contract
We are pleased to announce UnityPoint Health and Centene/Iowa Total Care have reached a contract agreement to serve the health care needs of Iowans in the Medicaid managed care program (Iowa Health Link).
Many former United Healthcare MCO patients have already been assigned by the State of Iowa Medicaid program (Iowa Health Link) to Centene/Iowa Total Care. Effective July 1, UnityPoint Health will be in the provider networks for both Amerigroup and Centene/Iowa Total Care.
Here are answers to some remaining questions Iowa Medicaid members may have:
- Is UnityPoint Health part of the provider network for Iowa Total Care? Yes. UnityPoint Health will provide care for Medicaid members with the Iowa Total Care plan beginning July 1, 2019. UnityPoint Health is also in the provider network for Amerigroup and can provide care to IA Health Link members with any MCO plan.
- If I had the United Healthcare Medicaid plan, will I still be able to get my care at UnityPoint Health, UnityPoint Clinic or UnityPoint at Home with my Centene/Iowa Total Care plan? Yes, you can continue to see your provider as usual and you can get care from other UnityPoint Health providers or facilities, too.
- How can I get more information about my Medicaid plan, or change my Managed Care Organization? You can call your MCO for information about your specific Medicaid health plan at the phone number listed on your insurance card. Or, you can call Iowa Medicaid Member Services toll-free at 1-800-338-8366 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with any questions about the Medicaid program.
