Dr. Catherine Miller, M.D. of UnityPoint Clinic Neurosurgery.

Dr. Catherine Miller

Catherine Miller, MD, is a neurosurgeon who specializes in treating patients with spinal issues such as neck or back pain, tumors, scoliosis, and more.

With more than 12 years of experience, Dr. Miller strives to provide the safest and best care for each patient, with an emphasis on respect and communication. She understands that the spine is extremely complex so not every patient will have the same symptoms, problems, or treatment plan, but they can all expect compassionate and thorough care every step of the way.

Dr. Miller comes to the Dubuque area from San Francisco, California, where she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California. Her medical education started at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. Dr. Miller's medical training was done at Rush University Medical College, and her neurosurgery residency was completed at the University of Minnesota. At the University of California – San Francisco, Dr. Miller completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine.

In addition to her significant neurosurgery and medical education, Dr. Miller is part of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, Women in Neurosurgery, Minnesota Neurological Society, American Association of Neurologic Surgeons, Congress of Neurosurgeons, University of Minnesota Spine Research Group, Scoliosis Research Society, and North American Spine Society.

In her free time, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with her family, exercising/sports, traveling, and crafting.
