Become an Amputee Coalition-certified Peer Visitor by attending a training course on Saturday, December 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Certified Peer Visitors are trained volunteers who provide information and support for individuals about to undergo an amputation or who currently have limb loss/difference. The sole purpose of the Peer Visitor Program is to ensure that no one goes through their amputee journey alone. The Peer Visitor training course is open to amputees, family members of amputees and spouses of amputees. There is a $40 registration fee for the course, which supports the cost to administer the trainings and background checks. Registration fees are made payable to the Amputee Coalition prior to the class date. Background checks are required for all volunteers who represent the Amputee Coalition. Background checks are completed through the Amputee Coalition's third party, Sterling Volunteers, and are to be completed prior to the class date. Lunch is provided by the class host. For more information on the Peer Visitor Program or to apply for the training course, click this link. For more questions on the training at Finley Hospital, please contact Amy McFadden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
