UnityPoint Health - Finley Health Foundation Awarded DRA Grant
UnityPoint Health - Finley Health Foundation was a recipient of a $7,500 grant from the Dubuque Racing Association. The grant will support Finley Hospital's Family Birthing Suites in purchasing a new isolette.
The isolette, a specialized infant incubator, will be used within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for babies who are born prematurely, have developmental conditions, or are ill. Isolettes simulate the environment a preterm infant is accustomed to while in utero. Finley’s NICU cares for babies 34 weeks gestation and higher. The incubator will assist preterm or ill babies born at Finley to thrive during the first minutes, hours and days of life.
“Providing critical care to newborns with a variety of conditions is a vital part of Finley’s NICU,” said David Brandon, President and CEO of Finley Hospital. “Having this piece of equipment will benefit families in our community and we thank the DRA for recognizing our mission to improve the health of the people and communities of the Tri-State area.”
