Spiritual Accommodations
Patient care includes the spiritual as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient. Spiritual Care Services staff are interfaith chaplains who have special training for hospital ministry. Chaplains are available at all times to give support to patients and families through conversation, processing of difficult experiences or new diagnoses, prayer, bereavement ministry, dealing with addictions, sacramental ministry and more. Chaplains can also assist in notifying your priest, minister, rabbi or faith group leader that you are here and would like a visit.
Chapel
The chapel at Methodist West Hospital is located on the second floor between the main lobby and the Emergency Department.
Chapels are always open as places of prayer and meditation. Visitors of all faiths are welcome.
Prayer Requests
Written prayer requests may be left in the chapel or sent by e-mail to SpiritualCare@unitypoint.org. Prayer requests are checked each day and included in the morning's devotional.
