Our Neurology Providers
Lynn Rankin, MD received her medical training at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine with the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her neurology residency with the University of Arizona Hospitals in Tucson, Arizona. She is board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and board-certified in Headache Medicine by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS).
Dr. Rankin is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Iowa Neurological Association and the American Headache Society. Her special clinical interests include treatment for chronic migraine headaches and Botox injection treatment for neurological disorders.
Lynn K. Struck, MD attended the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She completed her residency in neurology and her fellowship in movement disorders and botulinum toxin injection with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Struck is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Her specialty is movement disorders. Dr. Struck is Medical Director of the Parkinson's disease Information and Referral Center.
Mohammad Alsharabati "Dr. AL", M.D., graduated from University of Jordan, completed his Neurology residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2008 and Clinical Neurophysiology / Neuromuscular fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. Dr. AL previously practiced with Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and with the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he held an assistant professor position in neurology.
Dr. AL is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology - Adult Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine. His clinical areas of expertise include Neurology, Neuropathy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Neuromuscular Disorders and Electromyography (EMG).
John Melchert, MD graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completing his residency at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and fellowship at Indiana University in Clinical Neurophysiology with EEG track. Dr. Melchert believes in patient-centered care with compassion. He does not see patients as a 'next' or a 'number', but a person with a potentially scary situation. He wants to help patients feel calm and explain the complicated jargon of medicine into simple and digestible language.
Dr. John Melchert is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and board eligible for Clinical Neurophysiology. His clinical interests are in seizures, epilepsy, neurological disorders and electrophysiology. When Dr. John isn't in the clinic, you will likely find him singing in his church's choir, traveling, exercising, hiking, playing board games or watching movies.
