Organ Donation at the Iowa Methodist Transplant Center

Organ Donation

Nothing compares to giving the gift of life. According to the National Kidney Foundation, if someone is considering donating a kidney, he or she "must be in good health and have normal kidney function and anatomy." If the potential living donor meets the preliminary donation criteria, he or she will need to undergo further testing to ensure kidney compatibility.

The decision to become a living donor is a personal one, and this decision should be made free from pressure. Adequate information should be provided to the potential living donor to enable him or her to make an educated decision.

Become a Living Donor

To take the first step toward becoming a living donor, please fill out our Living Donor Form. Or, if you have further questions, please read our Organ Donation Facts.
