What you eat and drink, if you exercise, how you live and where you work are all factors that can affect your risk for cancer. You should have regular check-ups with your primary care provider and discuss the appropriate ages to begin cancer screenings. These screenings will include but are not limited to colonoscopies, mammograms, self breast exams, pap smears and prostate exams.
The following is a list of the most common types of cancer and the suggested screenings for each (according to the American Cancer Society Screening Guidelines). Ages and screenings may vary so please speak to your primary care provider for more information.
